Sacred Heart Stone

Working for Turner Construction, J&S performed a wide variety of work between Spring of 2007 and Fall of 2008 at the Sacred Heart campus in Springfield. In addition the masonry work on two parking structures and a medical office building, J&S performed a challenging variety of stonework. These stonework elements included limestone art panels for the buiding’s exterior, slate tile for the building ‘s chapel, exterior stone at three different hospital entrances, six small interior fireplaces, and the piece de resistance – the grand fireplace in the building’s main entry lobby. This multi-story natural stone hearth extends above the clerestory roof and is exposed to the elements above.
