Completed in 2008, the Providence Hospital expansion in Hood River greatly improved both the capacity and the aesthetics for Hood River’s main medical facility. A number of interior improvements, as well as new Utility Plant building helped expand the main hospital. The most prominent aspect of the masonry, however, was the Columbia Gorge-quarried stone installed on the hospital’s main south approach. Some unique element designs, including arches and fountain surrounds, made for some unique challenges that J&S Masonry was able to work with Andersen to overcome, in order to produce a product that reflects the beauty of the surrounding gorge.
